Early in January 2013 Waitrose Altrincham chose Friends of Oliver as one of three charities they would support for that month.  Every Waitrose customer was given a token after checkout to vote for one of the three charities to receive a share of a larger donation.  Early in March we received a phone call to find out that Friends of Oliver would be receiving a handsome donation of £225.  A big thank you to Waitrose for choosing to support us in our efforts to fund a cure for FOP.

159th Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race: Easter Sunday the 31st March 2013 sees the 159th Boat Race between crews from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. First raced in 1829, the Boat Race is one of the oldest and hotly anticipated sporting events in the world.  Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton, will be hosting an exclusive and private champagne reception on board the M.V. Erasmus cruise liner for special guests of the University of Oxford.  The Erasmus will be positioned right at the start of the Race at Putney Pier, so guests will be treated to one of the best views on the River Thames for this historic clash of the Dark and Light Blues. Refreshments and a luncheon will be provided, with plasma screens on board for guests to enjoy the rest of the Race.  This auction item is for 2 people, timings are to be confirmed. [Note: the prize does not include accommodation or transport to the event.]

The tickets have been won by our highest bidder who bid an amazing £500.  The winner has been contacted and is looking forward to the day!  Thanks to all who participated and helped make this a success.

My mummy and daddy worked hard and "Friends of Oliver" is now a fully registered charity in England and Wales (#1147704).  To help with that I have a shiny new website.  You may remember my old one which was a way to say a big thank you to my friends and family who support our search for a cure.

My new site is not only that but also somewhere other families and friends can find out information about my condition, what is going on with FOP research around the world (how your money and support is helping) and details on how you can help, donate and get involved.

We are always happy for anyone to contact us should they have the misfortune of finding themselves or a loved one that 1 in 2,000,000th person who has to deal with this condition.
